Nichicon (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 12 March 1990 with an authorized capital of 100 Million MYR and a paid-up capital of 63 Million MYR.
The first manufacturing and office building was built in 1990 at Bangi Industrial Area with a land area of 48,280m2.
The production of Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor started with the introduction of E-Cap, which is a lead-type.
As an initiative to improve our quality, we have acquired ISO9002 on December 1993 which was updated to ISO9001 on May 2006.
The production of Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor followed with the introduction of Block Cap, which is a snap-in terminal type.
We have acquired ISO14001 on December 1998. With the motto “Nichicon Cares for the Earth”, we promote 5R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair, Refuse) as our EMS activity.
To fulfill our automotive customers’ requirements, we have acquired QS9000 on July 1999 which was updated to TS16949 on May 2005 then IATF16949 on May 2018.
For further business expansion, the second manufacturing building was built in 2000.
The production of Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor followed with the introduction of E-Chip, which is a chip type.
We were awarded with the Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) Award from Intel (no comma) in 2005.
The SCQI Award is Intel’s most prestigious award that recognizes suppliers that provide products and services that are essential to their success.
We were awarded with the Supplier Quality Excellence Award from General Motors Company in 2012.
This award is given to the selected suppliers that provide excellent quality products that exceed the stringent quality requirements of General Motors Company.
We will continuously strive for Zero Defects in making reliable and safe products that will exceed our customers’ expectations.
In 2018, a new warehouse was built to fulfill the increase in production capacity and an EV Quick Charger and Energy Storage System were installed to reduce electricity consumption. Our EV Charging System is open to the public.
As a comprehensive manufacturer of capacitors, we perform product creation together with our valued customers.
In order to improve product quality to meet automotive requirements, a dust-free room was built and equipped with high-quality machines.
All automotive line staffs are competent in automotive control and Quality First principle.
As an initiative to reduce carbon emission and promote clean environment, a gas cogeneration and solar panel and gas cogeneration system were installed in 2020.
Carbon emission can be reduced by 68% by generating electricity from natural gas and can be reduced up to 72% in total by utilizing the waste heat through the natural chiller.
We were awarded with the MisHA Excellence Award on OSH Risk Management in Manufacturing Sector 2022.
This award recognizes and honors organizations that demonstrates excellent safety and health risk management in the manufacturing sector.
A ground breaking ceremony was held to officiate the construction of a new building to increase our production capacity.
